 Pim Koopman has unexpectedly passed away
To our great distress our drummer Pim Koopman has unexpectedly passed away on Monday morning, November 23, 2009, 56 years of age. Our thoughts are with Pim’s family.

35th Anniversary DVD
The final concert of the 35th Anniversary has been confirmed to take place at October 7th at the Paradiso, Amsterdam. Tickets for this event, that will be recorded for DVD, can be ordered directly at Dutch Music. Keep checking our site for more info about this special night, and more plans to bring this unique Kayak year to a memorable end.
 
Choose your favourite Kayak songs

The Kayak 35th Anniversary DVD will be released in November as part of a special package box, that will also contain the CD’s of the live concert in Paradiso at October. This box will also feature a CD with the fans’ choice, plus songs that have never been released in Holland before.

In order to determine our fans’ choice Kayak asks you to make up a list of your favorite Kayak songs. Name one track of each Kayak album (except the compilation albums, ‘Chance for a LIVE Time’ and ‘KAYAKoustic’). The tracks getting most votes are eligible for this CD in the Anniversary Box.

So please make your choice from these albums (one title per album):

If you do not know a certain album, you may simply leave that one open.

The final choice will be made by Kayak: it may appear that the chosen songs are doubling those of the live concert, or that the total time exceeds the maximum duration of an audio-CD (72 minutes). In that case, Kayak will make a balanced choice, taking the votes well into account.

The poll ends at September 1st, so be sure to vote before that date. Please keep our calculations as simple as possible: only one vote per e-mail address, please.
SingleSimultaneously with the new album ‘Coming Up For Air’, Kayak will release a special single-CD with ‘Undecided’ as the A-track. This CD will also feature the song ‘Beat the Clock’, which does not appear on the album.

Furthermore this ‘enhanced-CD’ will contain rare footage from the 2005 rock opera ‘Nostradamus – The Fate of Man’ with self-made front row images of the second half of the show. The video, with a duration of almost 45 minutes, offers an intrigueing look behind the scenes and even in the dressing rooms. Not to be missed by Kayak fans and everyone else who have seen the show.

The release of the new Kayak album ‘Coming Up For Air’ has been planned for January 4th 2008. This coincides with the first concert of the tour in the theatre of Harderwijk.
